The Pacaya volcano is one of the three active volcanoes in Guatemala, located in San Vicente Pacaya, in the province of Escuintla. It has an elevation of 2,552 meters above sea level (8,373 ft.) And is one of the most recommended volcano hikes due to its easy access and spectacular views of the volcanic chain.
Hiking Pacaya Volcano
Our tour begins with a morning transfer from Antigua Guatemala or Guatemala City (1 hour) towards the foothills of the active Pacaya volcano.
This volcano hike will take 1.5 hours. Approximately and requires a moderate effort. Take note that is possible to rent a horse at the entrance of the park.
Our path will take us through a pine forest, where you will get to the volcanic ash path and finally reach the cone. From the top we can enjoy excellent views of the volcanoes in the North; the lowlands of the Pacific coast and El Salvador.
After enjoying our volcano adventure tour, we will return to the foothills to take our minivan back to your hotel.
